Unfortunately, breast cancer is still the most common form of cancer found in women. At 17.5%, breast cancer is sadly the number-one form of cancer that kills most women. However, a breast cancer diagnosis is no longer a death sentence in itself: if it is detected early and the tumour is localised, around 90% of patients can be cured. According to estimates, around half of all breast cancer victims could still be alive if we paid attention to a healthier lifestyle, but also made more disciplined use of the extensive preventive care on offer. Possible causes of breast cancer range from obesity, an unhealthy lifestyle - poor diet, little exercise, alcohol, and nicotine to type 2 diabetes. However, this has not yet been scientifically proven. That is why preventive care is so important: breast palpation by a gynaecologist and mammography are the official methods of preventative care. The most important thing, however, is performing regular checks on yourself. This uncomplicated method can be carried out practically anytime and anywhere. And, it is not dependent on the availability of doctors, appointments and working hours. This is the quickest way to recognise changes and make a doctor's appointment immediately if necessary. Less is more Cleansers, toners, serums, facial oils, sunscreens and moisturisers are all part of your standard routine yet your skin still feels dry? Your skin is irritated and reacts with painful blemishes due to sweat and sunbathing? These are clear signs that your skin is stressed and desperately needs a break. Did you know... ... applying creams to the skin constantly causes the corneal layer to swell? Extensive skincare routines and products result in the skin not activating its natural functions, such as the regeneration process. The result: the skin's barrier function is disturbed and can hardly defend itself against external influences. Pimples, redness, pigmentation spots, small wrinkles and an overproduction of sebum are often the result thereof. Give your skin a break - Try to avoid as many skin care products as possible at first and, if possible, do not wear make-up for a longer period. - Try a cleansing oil instead of a cleansing lotion or face wash. It may sound like a contradiction, but oily and blemish-prone skin responds particularly well to this method. More and more cosmetic brands are focusing on the topic of "refill packaging instead of single-use packaging". The surplus of packaging materials has a serious impact on our environment which is not without consequences. According to the organisation "Zero Waste", the beauty industry produces 120 billion packaging units annually. The fact that most of this is plastic is a reason to push for cutting back on consumption or taking a more minimal approach. After all, according to estimates, the beauty industry will produce around 12 billion tonnes of plastic waste by 2050 - a scary thought that should make up rethink our consumer habits. It is undeniable that additional packaging materials, such as protective films, bottles or jars made of plastic, produce unnecessary waste. A better alternative is packaging that can be reused more than once. Practical refill systems ensure that the packaging can be reused several times. Only the contents, i.e. shampoo or shower gel, are renewed or refilled into the reusable containers. This idea has not only been adapted by natural cosmetics brands. Big players, such as Nivea, Dove, Fa, Garnier, etc. are also taking on this approach. Great product, lousy packaging? In addition to the "Clean Beauty" niche, where the main focus is on using skin-friendly, cruelty-free and non-controversial ingredients, the focus has now also shifted towards the packaging used. More and more brands are choosing sustainable raw materials and producing less "new" plastic as possible in regard to their packaging. A big pioneer in the field of drugstore cosmetics is the popular brand Catrice. The "Clean ID" product line, for example, contains completely harmless ingredients and deliberately avoids volatile silicones, microplastic particles, PEGs, parabens and certain dyes. Even with the packaging, care is taken to use as little plastic as needed. Particularly during summer, stylish dresses, skirts and shorts are in high demand. Using a razor to quickly remove hairs from the legs might seem like the quickest and easiest solution. However, this is exactly where mistakes happen that irritate the skin unnecessarily. The skin reacts with unattractive dark spots and forms strawberry skin. What this phenomenon is all about and how it occurs is explained here! What am I actually doing wrong? We all know this situation: you are late because you decided to put on that beautiful skirt at the last moment. Now it's time to get rid of the hair on your legs! You quickly hop into the shower and, being pressed for time, shave your legs with the dull razor that has been lying in the bathroom for ages. Instead of the recommended shaving gel, you quickly use your normal shower gel (or even shampoo!) instead of shaving cream. This is exactly what causes irritation and small dark spots on the skin. Simply put, the hair follicles are inflamed and the skin is irritated. This phenomenon is particularly common in people with a lot of hair. In addition to pimples appearing after shaving, another issue arises: strawberry skin. How to shave properly in order to prevent dark spots: 1.) Replace your razor blades regularly: Dull blades are an absolute no-go when it comes to hair removal and cannot give you a clean shave. Fresh blades are gentler on the skin and ensure a clean shave. 2.) Regular exfoliation and using mild toners before shaving: We recommend exfoliating the legs regularly. A body scrub helps to remove dead skin cells and ingrown hairs from the pores. A mild toner gently cleanses the skin after having used a body scrub and also removes impurities. 3.) According to a survey of 2,500 families by the University of Erlangen, only 30% of those surveyed stated that they took sun protection for themselves and their children just as seriously during daily life, as on vacation. It is always necessary to protect your skin when you plan to stay in the sun for a long period of time! according to a study by Brown University in Rhode Island, five sunburns before the age of 20 are enough to increase the risk of skin cancer enormously. regular visits to the solarium double the risk of developing melanoma. Artificial UV radiation is also particularly harmful to the eyes and can have serious consequences such as photochemical damage to the retina. the classic saying "I'm already tanned, nothing can happen to me anymore!" is false. Pre-tanned skin is not immune to sunburn or cancer and needs protection! If you were to compare the skin's own protection through self-tanning with sunscreen, we would have a sun protection factor of just 1.5. the right sun protection is just as important for our eyes as it is for our skin. Always wear sunglasses with a UV-400 label, especially in strong sunlight. No matter what time of year! even waterproof sun protection products need to be refreshed again and again. After two 20-minute stays in the water, only half of the original protection is still available. So the following rule applies: dry well after bathing and re-apply plenty of sun cream. Beauty Test: ELVIVE Hydra Hyaluronic

Our testers: May we introduce: Sonja, Jezzi and Sabine were so nice and answered three small questions briefly and concisely: My hair type: This is what I liked about the series and I noticed this effect immediately: I didn't like this: (All testers received 1x shampoo, 1x conditioner, 1x hair mask and 1x moisturising serum from the Hydra Hyaluronic series) Here are their answers: Sonja: Long, dyed hair, slightly damaged Great design, the hair is easy to comb, it doesn't weigh you down, simply great value for money! The hair could smell more afterwards (but it's really only a small defect) Jezzi: My hair is long and thick with lots of volume. It is also curly with dry and damaged ends. What I liked best about using this series was that I could go out without having to do any complicated styling. I felt the effect immediately. My hair was softer than ever. What I didn't like is that this effect doesn't last longer. After just a few days my hair was dry again. Immediately after using the series, my hair also felt significantly more voluminous, which I don't want because I already have very thick hair. But I was able to tame the volume again with a hair oil from L'Oreal. My conclusion: This series is super cool! I especially liked the moisturising serum. I recommend this to all those who have dry hair like me and want to leave the house without having to style it. Sabine: Short, fine, dry hair. My hair is fresher and doesn't get greasy as quickly. Subtle, pleasant scent. Great series, I can only recommend it. (Nothing to complain about.) General conclusion: The oh feliz editors agree: the series generally does what it promises, it cares and ensures easy combing. An important factor is also the volume effect. In other words, the series is less suitable for women or men with very thick hair who may want to achieve less volume and more suppleness. In contrast to the other ELVIVE products, the scent is also rather reserved (which some people will definitely like). Hair Colour Trend 2022 - "Fantasy"

Spring is full of life and stunning colours, bring a little of that inspiration to your locks! Just a few highlights in the hair make for a total visual change and instantly brighten up any look. Washable hair colours or hair chalk are just the thing, especially for beginners who have not tried such wild colours before! Which colour suits me and what works best? To put it simply, the colours in your hair have the same effect on your skin tone as your make-up. In other words, there are colours that don't suit you at all and others that will flatter your skin tone. In addition, the base colour of your hair is also crucial, because the rule of thumb applies to highlights in the hair: the lighter your hair, the more striking the colours will appear. In other words, the trend colour "oyster blond" (platinum blond with a grey cast) in combination with pastel colours or even very flashy pink or blue tones pair very well! If you have dark hair, we recommend that you first have your hairdresser professionally bleach the areas where you would like to have the highlights (we strongly advise against trying it yourself, as the back of the head usually gets blotchy!). The cool thing about washable colours is that after just a few washes, you can try something completely different. Beauty addicts who are keen on experimenting will find this an excellent choice, as many well-known Youtubers (Naomi Jon, for example) prove again and again! Tip for pastels: just mix the base colour with some conditioner until you get the shade you want. Dare to be bold!

Beauty Test: ziaja "Goat's Milk"

care series Goat's Milk by ziaja Product Tester: Alicia, 32 years old skin type: sensitive, dry in some places, skin irritation and blemishes tend to develop quickly if the wrong products are used Let's face it, humans are creatures of habit. Changes are always viewed with scepticism at first, and you always approach the matter cautiously. It takes a little effort to overcome your fears and try something new. The same goes for me, especially when it comes to skincare. Why change something when it has worked quite well so far? For me personally, there are actually only two main factors in changing products: effect and price. Experience has shown that it is quite difficult to find great products at an excellent price point. An entire care set can easily cost over €100. That's why the ziaja brand caught my eye. They offer a huge selection of product lines for every skin and hair type, at affordable prices. There are two things I think are particularly commendable about this brand: ziaja does not test on animals When it comes to the addition of preservatives, the saying goes: "As much as necessary, but as little as possible!" So, enough babble - let's go, ziaja! Face: Recommended skin type: Very dry or mature skin. The products are not recommended for acne-prone and oily skin! Make-up Remover: Removes eye make-up very gently. No burning - no rubbing necessary - leaves no skin irritation. Cleansing Milk: Is very rich and super gentle. However, my skin is always prone to blemishes, so I recommend this for very dry and mature skin types (as described on the packaging). Day cream: This cream is quickly and easily applied. It has a delicate texture and is quickly absorbed, and leaves the skin feeling soft, without being greasy. Body: Recommended skin type: Normal to dry skin Not recommended for: Very dry skin, sensitive, or blemish-prone skin. Shower Gel: Cleanses incredibly gently and does not leave the skin feeling dry. Body lotion: Definitely one of my favourites from the test series, as it absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling totally soft. It is not greasy and has a lovely, light texture. Body butter: This product also has an unexpectedly light texture that makes the skin particularly soft. Personally, I can imagine the body butter as a good alternative to body lotion for dry areas; for me, it is always the shins, for example, that could use an extra dose of care. Hair: Recommended hair type: Dry, dull and straggly hair It's hard to imagine what my hair has been through. I dye my hair very often and therefore am always in need of a proper care boost! I was totally unbiased when it came to these hair products and didn't expect a wow effect, but WOW! Shampoo: When I shampooed, I was amazed at how incredibly soft and gently my hair was cleaned. My scalp usually reacts immediately with dandruff or skin irritation if the shampoo is too aggressive! Conditioner: The goat's milk keratin hair conditioner is the ideal complement to the shampoo and ensures easy combing. Hair mask: My personal highlight was the hair mask! I was really sceptical until the end and thought I'd only believe it when my hair was blow-dried. The last time I had such soft hair was after an intensive treatment at the hairdresser. This hair mask is now an absolute "must-have" for me and I already have it in the shower! My favourite product from the "Goat's Milk" series: Last but not least, I would like to mention the hand cream, which - as you can easily see - has already become a staple in my handbag. Hand creams are a dime a dozen, but I'm really excited about this one! My hands don't have any special care requirements, but in winter my skin, especially around the knuckles, tends to get really dry and irritated. This hand cream is ideal for me, and anyone else, who spends a lot of time at their computer. It absorbs quickly, has no greasy film, and leaves your hands incredibly soft! My conclusion on the “Goat's Milk” products from ziaja: With normal skin, with minor complaints such as dry patches, or straw-like hair, you will be very happy with this series. Great care at a low price! What I don't like so much: The intense scent of all products in the Goat's series. The smell is very “soapy”. The products remind me of the classic DOVE soap bar. I personally like this scent, but I can imagine that it would be too intense for some. The products would be perfect they used a little less fragrance. All in all I really enjoyed the test and I discovered a few NEW products for myself :)
